Kaufman & Associates designed “Studio A” in this ground up, 15,000 square foot facility in Bangkok, Thailand. Between the stage and 3 large ISO rooms, the studio comfortably seats a 80-piece orchestra. The stage is designed with variable acoustics, including motorized ceiling panels capable of changing the reverb time by over 1 second. At the time of completion, the 640 square foot control room was equipped with the 80 channel SSL9000J from Electric Lady, K&A custom monitors, and a great selection of outboard processing and microphones. Recently, the SSL9000J was replaced by a 48 channel SSL Duality.
Jay designed the facility to be as functional as it is beautiful. Between the stunning visuals and the high performance of the space, Jay’s design has helped push Studio 28 on to the international stage of World-Class Orchestral Recording studios.
Amenities include an observation lounge that overlooks the main stage, designated sleeping quarters, an atrium lounge, an outside courtyard and garden area with a bar and BBQ, and a second floor that includes a full-fledged bar and a full kitchen. Studio 28 has expanded their services and can be hired as a venue for all types of events.
