Macroscopik Studios is the semi-subterranean home recording studio of composer/producer Tommy Simpson (aka Macro/micro). Designed by Jay Kaufman & Associates, the 1,200 sq ft studio's Main Stage is a bright and natural sounding live room, with 13' high ceilings and variable acoustic sliding panels. The Control Room features JBL M2 monitors, SSL Nucleus DAW controller with 16 channels of Neve 1073 and 1084, API 512C, and Rupert Neve Portico 511 mic pre’s; various vintage and new synths and keyboards from Moog, Access Virus, Dave Smith and Korg; outboard gear from Neve, Manley, Universal Audio, Empirical Labs and Thermionic Culture; and a Mic Locker including Sony C-800G, Royer R-121 and Neumann U87s. It also features a comfortable Isolation Booth large enough to accommodate four vocalists, a fully-mic’d drum kit, or grand piano.
